- best friend to "the chosen one." destiny has saved the world a lot. hot supernatural boys either are head over heels in love with her or want to kill her (or both, but destiny is not interested) she gets away with stuff. she's still passing all her classes (how?). she can fight, do magic - you know all the things.
- isn't really sure what she's good at and is trying to figure out how to help destiny. she often feels overshadowed by her and thinks that one day her friend will ditch her for someone else.
- while destiny has a guide who is helping her develop her powers and is someone she can talk to emily often feels alone and doesn't want to burden her friend with what she's feeling. while destiny becomes more powerful and more involved in the supernatural world, emily feels more alone and is scared her bff will leave her behind.
